Teen Driver Taken Off Life Support

Grand Bay School Bus LaDonna Perryman was crticially injured Thursday morning when she slammed into the back of a school bus. Her uncle says she has now died.

4:28 p.m.
- LaDonna Perryman's uncle tells News 5 that his niece died from her injuries.

1:32 p.m.
- There were 17 children on board the bus. All attend Breitling Elementary School in Grand Bay

11:55 a.m.
- State Troopers have identified the teenage driver who rear ended the school bus as LaDonna Perryman
- Perryman was life flighted to USA Medical Center where she is in critical condition.
- No one on the bus was hurt

7:43 a.m.
There has been a wreck involving a school bus in Grand Bay.
It happened at Old Pascagoula and Hall Road around seven this morning.
A spokesperson from the Mobile County Sheriff's department tells us a 16 year old driver crashed into the bus.
We are told the teenager has possible life threatening injuries and is being transported to USA Medical Center by LifeFlight.
No children on the bus were reported injured.
News 5 has a crew on the scene, and will bring you the latest information, as soon as we get it.

mi bother’s and me all went and still go 2 the same school she sis . she was a great person 2 be around ever one loved her .and her smile could make the worest day of ur life so much better and i know tht when ever i was in a bad mood or i was upset tht all i had 2 do was go 2 her and ever thing would be get ..we all love her and she will be turly missed ..my prays r with yall he is up there watching over us =]

As a parent, you are always prepared to go first. To lose a child in such a tragic manner is, without a doubt, the most painful experience in the world. My heart breaks for her parents & my prayers are with them. For them to have exhibited such selflessness in donating her organs in the midst of their grief speaks volumes. What an amazing family!

What a Loss. A young life gone. This is the second picture that I have seen in two days that showes a car under the rear of a school bus. Since the rear of the bus is high why haven’t the braces seen on the back of 18 wheelers been installed on school buses? This tragic loss of life could have been prevented.

I went to school with her mom,And she was great and so sweet in school.My heart goes out to you,If you need anything I’ll be there I’m so so sorry for the lost of your baby girl.you are and your family are in my prayers.Again I have children her age I’m so sorry…..Crystal Gardner

LADONNA WAS A BEAUTFUL YOUNG LADY THAT HAD A HEART OF GOLD SHE WOULD GIVE U THE SHIRT OFF HER BACK IF YOU NEEDED IT ,I HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING WITH LADONNA AN DJ DINER SHE IS A VERY BRIGHT AN SPECIAL YOUNG LADY SHE WILL BE SADLY MISSED BUT NEVER WILL SHE BE FORGOTTEN ,MY THOUGHTS AN PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE FAMILY

We will be praying for this family. May God hold you close at this time. I wonder why the school buses don’t have the lowered drop-down bar that is required for tractor-trailer rigs? It is designed to keep vehicles from going under the higher vehicle. It drops down well below the normal height of the trailer. Just wondering.

My heartfelt condolences to her family and to her friends. It is so hard for teens to lose one of their peer group and I especially pray for these young people during this traggic time.

Donating her organs is such a selfless act of her family and I myself think it shows great strength to share life with so many others.
