MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Democrat Thomas Fuller has withdrawn fromthe 1st District congressional race against Republican U.S. Rep. Jo
Bonner.
In a letter to party officials, Fuller of Chatom says he was
unable to wage a creditable campaign in the southwest Alabama
district. Democrats did not immediately name a replacement
candidate.
Bonner campaign spokesman Randy Hinaman declined to comment.
Fuller's withdrawal leaves Bonner opposed in the Nov. 4 general
election by Libertarian Dick Coffee of Mobile, who is waging a
write-in campaign.
