That would depend on where the burial of ashes takes place. Here lately a friend of mine was cremated and ashes buried for $800. We recently buried the ashes of a man in a family cemetery for nothing. He had wanted to buried by his grand mother so all it took was a small hole for his urn by his grand mother’s marker and the family put a marker on top. If the family really wanted to bury his ashes I wouldn’t think it would take much. I think someone at WKRG could tell you how to set up a fund for his burial.

hey carl, thats why i was asking how much, maybe we could go thru wkrg and take up a donation or something. if the family has a family plot or something could have already been paid for years ago.( mine does in atlanta paid for by my great grand parents.)  that would help with cost. just trying to figure out a way to comfort the family and do whats right. any ideas

Like my self most people have bought burial policies for them selves and their children and grand children and it seems the norm and never thinking that there might be some that haven’t taken those precautions. I feel sure Devon’s parents will be compensated from Alex’s insurance some where down the road but usually it’s the time at the funeral home and burial or cremation that’s when money is really needed and usually up front. I know, I’ve been there and it took the burial policy and more cash. I really feel for Devon’s family.

HEARTFELT , you know they can still bury the ashes. wonder how much it would cost? does the family have a family plot somewhere.

Devon’s aunt. This shows your family is unaware of the compassion of folks from the area.We are extremely sorry for your family’s loss. Mean while we have been busy hanging Miss Martin rather than airing on the news there was a family truly in financial need at this horrible time. Gee what is wrong with news….What is wrong with all of us. I know for a fact people from this area are some of the most giving people anywhere in the nation. We as a community would have done something to help your family had that been aired. This community has raised money on numerous occasions for things like this. All we need to know is that there is a need. But like I said we (including the news) have all been busy pointing fingers and coming up with NO solutions to help all involved.

devon’s aunt , oh my thats terrible oh no i am so sorry, i would have thought that girls auto insurance would cover the burial. i am so sorry, i would have thought some one would have helped with that. cremation is fine if you choose it, but not like that.

Good Morning IGB83, I think we all agree punishment is needed. The severity and implementation of it seems to be the difference in opinions as in most cases. OOps! got a visitor got to go.

Pick another young child’s grave as a replacement for Devon’s, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind. The anguish of this event needs to burned into Alexandria’s memory as part of the punishment and to remind her of the fact that a life taken can never be returned.

All I know is, once the wreck occurs, anything that happens after that is unknown, and unintentional by the driver. Remember Hulk Hogans son? He wrecked while racing, paralyzed his friend, and got 8 months. I say that what is fair for one is fair for another. Once the wreck occurs, the outcome of the people involved should not be taken into account. Because you cant say “Hulks son is lucky the guy didnt die” or “this girl murdered these two young people”. They are responsible for the crash, not the effects of the crash.

Please passionate posters, dont read into what Im saying and take it the wrong way. I dont care what happens to this girl. I didnt know her and dont care. My perspective is more from a legal standpoint, if you find Hulks son guilty of endangerment and wreckless driving, then u should find this girl guilty of the same. They were doing the exact same thing. The result shouldnt be taken into acct.

What is fair for one, should be fair for the other. Thats justice.

carl-That would not work!! You see, as my sister had only been in Alabama for 2 weeks and couldn’t afford much, my nephew was cremated and is at her house in Fl where she felt she had no choice, but to move back there. So, how do you suggest Alex clean his grave?
