Body Of Missing Crabber Found

Minnesota Fisherman Somphane Souwankham left Fowl River Marina on Monday and never came back.

The body of a missing boater from Irvington was found Tuesday afternoon.

Somphane Souwankham was pulled from the water near Gaillard Island, that's between dog and Fowl river. Rescue crews found his boat there last night with only crab traps and life jackets inside. They found his body about a quarter of a mile from where they recovered his boat.

Souwankham left the Fowl River Marina to go crabbing Monday morning and was never heard from again. Family friends say Souwankham was originally from Laos and had recently moved to the Gulf Coast from Minnesota.

Rescue crews still don't know exactly what happened to Sowankham but searchers had to battle strong currents and choppy water.
