The vice-president of production and manufacturing at Bender Shipbuilding in Mobile has been arrested for sodomy. A grand jury indicted Dudley Saucier and his son, Daniel, the ex-husband of a former Baldwin County Assistant District Attorney. The indictment alleges both men sexually assaulted an underage family member.
"My client went and voluntarily took a lie detector test and passed it with flying colors," says Johnny Brutkiewicz, Dudley Saucier's attorney. "My client is 100 percent innocent. He's not guilty of anything. His family and friends are standing behind him, the Bender's are standing behind him and we're going to be acquitted of these charges."
Both men are out of jail, each posting 75-thousand dollars bail.
Baldwin County District Attorney Judy Newcomb recused herself from the case because of her association with the former A-D-A involved in the investigation. Former District Attorney David Whetstone has been assigned special prosecutor. Whetstone tells News 5 he has a strong case and is confident the child was sexually abused.
