The Bankhead Tunnel will be closed this weekend so Department Of Transportation workers can repair a leak in the road.

ALDOT tells News 5 that ground water is seeping up through the road at the west entrance, which is the side closest to downtown Mobile. Workers will inject a urethane sealant into the pavement to stop the leak.

The tunnel will be closed at 9 o'clock tonight and will reopen at 5:00 a.m. Monday. Drivers should use the I-10 Wallace Tunnel as an alternate route.
