BAY MINETTE, Ala. (AP) - A 53-year-old Atmore woman was foundshot to death in a truck and her son-in-law has been arrested and
charged with capital murder in the slaying.
Baldwin County Coroner Jim Small said Kathy Lee Allison was shot
multiple times in a truck parked on Baldwin County 61, near the
Escambia County line, around 5 p.m. Sunday.
Sheriff's Maj. Anthony Lowery said Allison's son-in-law, James
Dorriety, 35, was arrested at a convenience store and charged with
capital murder.
Deputies accused Dorriety of firing a high-powered hunting rifle
into the truck, killing Allison. Allison's daughter, April
Dorriety, was in the truck at the time of the shooting, but escaped
injury.
Deputies said Dorriety told them the shooting resulted from an
ongoing domestic dispute.
