Baldwin County Sheriff Hoss Mack announced Thursday that his department has purchased approximately 80 tasers.

Deputies must take a 7 hour training class and pass a test before being allowed to carry one.

The department has also implemented standard operating procedures that deal with taser use. Anytime a deputy uses his/her taser, they are required to complete a “Suspect Resistance Form” that is reviewed by the division commander, professional standards commander, the chief deputy and the sheriff.

The tasers, which were purchased with discretionary funds, have been on the street for about a month. So far, the tasers have only been used once.

Sheriff Mack says he believes the tasers will increase safety to both the officer and suspect.

Awfully quiet….

I think I figured out the hatred for LE….interesting what you can pull up in the records archives….

Do they still carry those bulky old tazers anymore or are they all the new X ones?

Oh wait he is not here either? I guess he went to call his friends or alert the media, in which we are already posting on.

Spider? I thought it was a pesky fly-maybe we can call Obama to “handle” him…

Selective reading? Already answered that question, like 3 pages ago….

Oh what a tangled web you spin little spider. Where’s the RAID?

LOL.

Nope he is back.

Actually I think he just decided to go to the other post about the scuffle.

You are the LE expert extraordinaire.  You tell me what proper protocol was before the advent of the taser.
