Harry Jemison, the owner of Jemison's Bait and Tackle Shop, won a major battle Tuesday in his fight with Mobile County.

Jemison met with County Commissioner Mike Dean. Dean agreed to let Jemison stay in his building just south of Alabama Port until the lease is up in 2013. As part of the agreement, Jemison will waive the $3 launch fee for all fishermen.

The county wants to build a boat launch and fishing pier but needs Jemison's spot for people to park. Commissioners had planned to boot Jemison off the property in October.

Wonderful. Now if we can just get our politicians in D.C. to listen to us.

///“waiting for the flying pigs” “still waiting”///

...congrats…!!!,,,,harry,,,,sure glad that u r safe,,,we,,,friends at the lots at D.I. next to grace tyson…..hylton,,paul,,d.k. and joann,,,nick and rose,,,are very proud u r still going to be open ..!!....will see u soon..!!!!...

I have paid the $3 fee to launch. If Jemison agrees to waive the $3 fee, he can then charge $4. $4 would be a deal. Free would make the place too busy to get in and out. I am happy to know he has 4 more years on his lease. When his lease is up in 2013 I am going to retire from fishing.

Good for you, Mr. Jemison!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mike Dean, I hope you aren’t planning on running for office again.

Nice to see a very small amount of good news today!  All these parent killers and baby killers are depressing the hell out of me.  The world seems to be going to hell-in-a-hand-basket at a faster and faster pace!
