Two escapees from work release in Atmore, AL have been apprehended.The two men 33-year-old Charles Bales and 42-year-old John Rice escaped were doing work for the City of Atmore when they escaped just after 1 p.m. last Wednesday. The two men were found and arrested by Escambia County Florida Sheriff's Deputies around 8-O'clock Tuesday morning at the Palm Court Hotel in Pensacola, Florida.
Rice is serving a life sentence for a 1997 burglary in Baldwin County.

Bales, serving a 10-year sentence for robbery in Jefferson County would have been elegable for parole in June of 2010.

Brian Corbett with The Alabama Department of Corrections says both men now face additional escape charges and possibly charges for any crime they may have committed while not in custody, which is being investigated by the department.
A woman was taken into custody by Sheriff's Deputies aswell during the arrest. Escambia County Sheriff's Office had an arrest warrant issued for the woman who was found with the two men. It is unknown at this time what her connection to Rice and Bales is or if she had any role in their escape.
