Back In The Bayou Again

Surgeon General Hurricane Doctor Watching Dr. Regina Benjamin drive into work in a pickup truck you would never guess that she's the president's nominee to be US Surgeon General.

Doctor Regina Benjamin is back at home on the Gulf Coast after a life changing announcement on Monday.

President Barack Obama wants her to be the next U.S. Surgeon General. On Wednesday, we found Dr. Benjamin at her rural clinic in Bayou La Batre. Her office is filled with flowers and well wishes from supporters.

Just up the road, Sidney's Chicken Restaurant welcomed her back into town with a message on their marquis. It reads "CONGRATULATIONS DR. BENJAMIN"

Owner John Irby says it's the least they can do to honor the local physician who could one day be the country's doctor. "Well, it's just a small way of showing her we love her and we are proud of her for her accomplishments."

Dr. Benjamin won't get the job until she gets through Senate confirmation and that could take a few months. As for the bayou clinic, she assures us that it's staying open.

thanks buddy, keep the faith!!!

bulldog - I really do think people are starting to come out of the Obama trance and beginning to ask the tough questions.  As they do that, they are realizing things are not adding up.

America might be down, but she is not out…. yet!

BamaBob, i really do feel the exact same way!!!

I’m okay with Bush for the most part.  Going into Iraq bothered me, but once we were in the middle of it I didn’t want to see our troops left out to die and I did not want to see a repeat of helicopters over the embassy in Saigon.  My biggest problem with Bush came in the Fall of last year when he did the chicken little dance about the banking system.

As for Obama, I didn’t think he had leadership experience before the election and now that he is in office, I am completely convinced of that fact.

To be perfectly honest, I not even sure who is running this country right now.  It sure isn’t Obama.  He is just the pitchman for someone else.

LOL, you hit the nail right on the head! sad, but i know Bush-bashers like that! i’m just glad we have not been attacked in 8 years! i just have a problem with all of Obama’s secret friends! ACORN, Rev. Wright, even Joe Biden seems to be confused! to all America…good luck!

I don’t even know what the 2008 election was all about.  I guess some people just hated Bush so much they were willing to vote for anyone that came across as the exact opposite.  Go figure…

Now we have a smoker and a chubby woman lecturing us about smoking and obesity.  Amazing ain’t it?  LOL

thank you BamaBob, i wish the people who voted for him would see that! i heard people say before the election, “this guy worries me”!!! i don’t think this is the change they expected!

Okay, I understand where you are coming from on this one.  Not only was there a hands off policy with Obama, most of the Main Stream Media was part of his cheering section.  They hazed over any controversial topics and praised this guy like he was immaculately conceived.

Now we have an amateur as a president and he is taking us straight into the toilet.  We can thank the media for that one!

her and the Obama family are treated with kid gloves! remember when Obama said: “my family is off limits”? no one seems to care about her qualifications, just like Obama, he picked her, she must be right for the job! only time will tell!

bulldog - Not sure what you mean.  What does Obama’s family have to do with vetting a Surgeon General?
