MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Auburn University trustee Jack Miller, aprominent Mobile attorney, has died at age 65.
A statement released by Auburn said he had suffered from cancer
in recent years. He died Saturday at his home on the Dog River.
Miller, a founding director of Colonial Bank, was active in Democratic Party politics and played a role in the successful gubernatorial campaign of Fob James in 1978. He also served as Deputy to the Chairman of the FDIC during the Carter Administration. He was appointed to the Board of Trustees in 2000 by Governor Don Siegelman.
His law firm - Miller, Hamilton, Snider and Odom - merged last
year with the New Orleans firm of Jones Walker.
Miller is survived by his wife Susan and three children.
