Atmore Deadly Shooting: Gunman Still On The Run

Alabama Murder  Police say Ferrell Purdue killed his estranged girlfriend's daughter and shot another man. The girlfriend managed to escape unharmed.

Atmore police are looking for a man they say shot and killed his estranged girlfriend's daughter and wounded a man.

According to police, Ferrell Purdue threw a bicycle through the window of Alice Evans apartment on McRae Street around ten o'clock Thursday night. He shot Evans' daughter and her daughter's friend with a long barrel shotgun.

19-year-old Marquetta Wasington was pronounced dead at the scene. 26-year-old Tony Hudson was rushed to Atmore Community Hospital and later transferred to USA Medical Center in Mobile.

Evans managed to escape through the window Purdue broke. Police say she and Purdue had dated, but that she was trying to break up with him.

Police say Purdue, who lives in Bay Minette, may be driving a gray/silver Dodge Charger or a gray, 1987 Mercury Grand Marquee with Alabama tag 52059AV
