Arrest Made In Citronelle Murder

Alabama Mobile Body believed to be that of Charles Black was found Wednesday afternoon.

Citronelle Police have made an arrest for the murder of Charles Larry Black, also known as Chuck.
Police have charged 24 year old Brandon Newburn with murder and first degree robbery.
They say more arrests are coming.
Black's body was discovered Wednesday afternoon in Citronelle.
Chuck Black's wife, Misty, said, "I drove by and saw everybody here."
That's how she said she learned that a body found in a shallow grave off Coy Smith Road was probably her husband's.
Police have not released a cause of death in the case.
They said an autopsy will be done.
Misty Black said, "Chuck was one of the best guy's you'd ever want to meet. He would never hurt a soul."
She said her husband didn't know the man police arrested.
Misty's mother, Melissa Prastina, said, she was afraid Chuck Black had a "violent end."
Misty Black said, "I know justice will take place and whoever did this will have to answer to God."
Chuck Black disappeared early Sunday morning.
Misty said, "I knew something terrible had happened to him when he didn't return to his girls. He never would have done that."
Chuck and Misty Black have two daughters ages 14 and 4.
Misty said, "We just take it day by day and ask for God's strength. You've got to be strong for the kids. (I'll) try to keep it together for them. I'm all Marlee (the four year old daughter) has got.

Jamie Burch obviously the media is the only people who think they get 100% of the facts right 100% of the time. just because the cpd said it doesn’t mean it is true. I don’t know if more were arrested or not. but, I do know that the media has a bad habit of getting their facts mixed up.

My condolences go out to the Black family from what I have read about him sounds like a great mans life was lost.

Hopefully justice will be served cold and swiftly for some of Citronelle’s worst.

As someone that lived in Citronelle for years and know way more then I should about a lot of the (how can I say this nicely)resident criminal element that lives there, just surprised this is the 1st death to come from this group.

Not sure where you’re getting your information from, but Citronelle PD says there has only been one arrest in this case.

how come nothing has been said about the other arrest citronelle has made in the case..i know for a fact two other ppl were picked up in connection with case

So am I understanding this correctly. This Brandon Newburn hangs out at the Citronelle Police Station and is possibly kin to one of the officers there??? You know that kinda makes you wonder what this fella was finding out off the record….. Also makes you wonder if possibly the CPD developed him as a suspect early on but didn’t show their hand and when the cards all come together Mr. Newburn was right where they wanted him…..

Of course what I don’t get is if this Newburn guy had a history of violence and frequented such a “classy establishment as Betty Jo’s” why would the Chief of Police and the (?) Board of Aldermen, Mayor, etc allow such a shady character to hang out with LEO’s….... I know our LEO’s undergo an extensive background check, including their family members criminal histories. I also know that if something goes awry like a stabbing then the City Officials, LEO’s etc want no association with said person. Maybe it is just me but the old saying “You are known by those you associate with” speaks volumes!!!

Don’t know of their day to day activety but have to add this had a friend killed in a head on by someone using drugs and alchol.The Citronelle Police where there for the family of this girl ,some were even pall bearers and had a strong presence at her funeral.The family didn’t live in the city thats just where everything happened.My hats off to them for the kind acts they showed to the family. All small towns have a click and you are either in or out.

I can not stand Citronelle. if you know or are kin to the right people you can do whatever you want to & you get away w/ it. it really is a different world up there.
