Anthony Mix Released By The Buccaneers

Alabama Auburn BREAKING NEWS The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released former Auburn WR Anthony Mix after his arrest on sex charges.

5:21 p.m.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released Mix who signed with the team during the offseason.

12:31 p.m.
Former Auburn wide receiver Anthony Mix is out of jail on a $5,000 bond.

The Bay Minette native turned himself into the Baldwin County Jail about 9 o'clock Wednesday morning and was released just before noon.

A grand jury indicted Mix yesterday on a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Police also say he had sex with a 15-year-old girl.

Mix graduated from Baldwin County High School and played at Auburn from 2002-2006. Since then he's played for three NFL teams and is currently on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' roster.

Yeah, considering buccaneers are pirates, it is a little strange they’d dump someone for committing rape. I thought that’s what being a pirate was all about…that pillaging, right?

“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been notified about theMix arrest. Mixs’ attorney says the team is supporting him and says Mix will report to training camp.”

This is the latest post, so I guess the Buccaneers haven’t dropped him.

Not cheering for the guy, but he was able to cut a deal and turn this into a misdemeanor. For the Buccaneers to boot him on a misdemeanor seems a little out of line, unless he just wasn’t living up to expectations anyway.
