LOUISVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Peanut distributor Ladon W. Abercrombieis recalling about one ton of peanuts packaged in two-pound clear
plastic bags and labeled as Abercrombie USA Grown Fresh Roasted
Peanuts or Abercrombie USA Grown Honey Roasted Peanuts.
In a statement Thursday, Abercrombie said the peanuts were
supplied by the Peanut Corp. of America in Blakely, Ga., which is
being investigated for salmonella cases.
The products were distributed to seven retailers in Alabama
between May 17, 2007 and June 4, 2008. No other Abercrombie peanuts
are involved in the recall.
The company's peanuts distributed after June 4, 2008 came from a
different supplier.
Abercrombie has not received any reports of consumer illness
associated with its products.
