WASHINGTON (AP) - Alabama Republican Senators Richard Shelby and
Jeff Sessions voted to reject a $14 billion emergency bailout for
U.S. automakers.
The proposed legislation collapsed in the Senate after the
United Auto Workers refused to give in to Republican demands for
wage cuts.
The Senate rejected the bailout 52-35 Thursday night.
The Bush administration calls the demise of the legislation
"disappointing" and says it's evaluating its options in light of
the breakdown.

And your Granny’s car is no longer under warranty, Bless your heart. I hope she signed up for the “Undercoating” on her precious car.

Besides that, I can put on the AC in my car (made in Alabama BTW)and know it will work ALL the way back from the White Christmas program at church. It’s 59 degrees here at midnight. Laughs again and LOVES not having to take a cold shower just to warm up after shoveling snow. Bless your soul.

You don’t buy lemons… so what are you buying, a Jag with all that money you send?

I guess the answer to your question is that we have better representation. Maybe the blood sucking south is sending better carpet baggers to Washington? Sounds like you should talk to your representatives and try to get your money back.

Time will tell what the auto industry will do .But the American people, not just people from Alabama just don’t want over priced gas hogs that are not worth the asking price. On this sending money to Alabama I have no Idea where you sent it but I haven’t got the first dime from any one much less anyone from Michigan Yeah you got that right no money from the hurricanes or any of the other disaters along with the majority of people from Alabama. This is not New Orleans.

GM has more CRAPPY cars. I already named all the GM cars I’ve owned that turn out to be LEMONS. My cars have better warranties and records on repairs. I’ll keep them, thanks.

I can’t account for the design of all cars. I can defend the efficiency and safety of the cars I prefer.

The big three do not build a car I want or desire. Besides that, they do not maintain their value when you drive them off the lot. Why don’t they work on improving their safety and value as well as efficiency?

UAW that is why noone can afford the cars now…I hope they all fall flat on there face….GO ALABAMA!

It will be the fault of both. Any company that agrees to pay the workers full salary for 2 year after layoff and full medical coverage is asking for this. The CEO’s are stupid and greedy, and the workers are greedy. Let them fail and have to go back to a real job. Losing Chrysler and GM is not going to topple the market like they want us to believe. They other Automakers will assimilate the left overs and workers and fill the void left. The difference is the UAW will fall which will benefit everyone.

Way to go Shelby and Sessions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
