NEW YORK (AP) - After a week with few upsets, the top of The
Associated Press poll only underwent slight alterations.
Oklahoma is Number 1 with 51 first-place votes and 1,608 points,
gaining a few points and top votes in its second week on top of the
rankings this season.
Number 2 Alabama picks up 13 first-place votes and 1,537 points.
Missouri moves up one spot to third after winning 52-17 at
Nebraska.
LSU drops a spot to Number 4 after an off week, and Texas
remains fifth. The Longhorns and Sooners meet Saturday in the
annual Red River Rivalry in Dallas.
Number 6 Penn State and seventh-ranked Texas Tech hold their
spots. Number 8 Southern California and 9th-ranked BYU flip-flopped
after USC's easy 44-10 victory against Oregon.
Georgia moved up a spot to tenth.
The next five consists of Florida, Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Utah
and Boise State.
Kansas is 16th, followed by Oklahoma State, Virginia tech, South
Florida and Auburn.
Wake Forest checks in at Number 21 followed by North Carolina,
Michigan State, Pittsburgh and Ball State. The 25th-ranked
Cardinals are in the AP poll for the first time ever.
