This will be the 2nd rate hike from al pwr, since hurricane Katrina.  They increased our bills by 20% back in ‘05 to pay for all the repairs

i am unable to go to the meeting. i am sure it will be in montgomery. so i am going to email them and voice my view. the southern company needs to be calmed down a little.

Human error is normal in life! But, my neighbor is cooling a much larger area of space than myself and has two times the people living in the residence yet her bill is always less than mine..hmmm go figure…

If in fact the rate increase is due to the increase in cost for coal and natural gas then that is just something we will have to deal with.  14% is a little much i believe. They need to sit down and figure up a new percentage.

COMING SOON TO A HOUSE YOU KNOW—A SMART METER! they can change the rates you pay during any part of the day with the smart meter and get all the readings automatically, doing away with meter readers and able to shut off any meter from the plant or group of meters during times of heavy draw on the lines. Don’t think they would play any favorites on who to shut off do you ?

A monopoly I believe covers it best and they have been covering everything they thought might interfere with making higher profits. Check out some of the regulations they got passed regarding wind energy and those they’re trying to get passed on solar power. They’re trying to box us in and giving us no choices on alternatives. They are quite about it but are working away in the background.

My gracious!  Why does everyone want to keep raising there prices?  My power bill is already running me $300 + a month, thats when they actually read the meter instead of guessing at it! They get paid good money to read meters and they need to do there jobs….I mean how hard is it to really jump out of a vehicle and write some numbers down?

alabama power needs no increase. they are worse than the oil companies. the southern company needs to be broken up.
