MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - State legislators are calling for an
investigation and review of personnel practices since learning that
a Statehouse employee kept his job for nearly two years after he
was questioned about leaving marijuana and drug paraphernalia in
one of their offices.
Lawmakers also say they want to know why they were not informed
of the incident involving maintenance worker Lorenza Hooks for
years and wonder if a cover up and more people were involved.
State Rep. Alvin Holmes, D-Montgomery, said he believes drugs
were being provided to "some high level people in the House of
Representatives."
The drugs were found in a backpack in former state Rep. Bobby
Humphryes' office in December 2006. Hooks admitted that the
backpack was his, but said the drugs and drug paraphernalia were
not.
The Montgomery Advertiser reported on the events in Sunday
editions.

Harry J. Anslinger and William Randolf Hearst are the two men who brought down marijuana.

Drug prohibition breaks up families, bankrupts people, makes people homeless, causes explosions and accidents, kills cops and innocent people, creates criminal gangs and gang violence, increases the availability of drugs for children, increases racial profiling, makes drugs look sexy, causes bribery and corruption, funds terrorist activity, takes drugs away from the sick and dying, decreases scientific study.

I’m advocating the legalization of marijuana, indeed.  And not once have I told anyone here to go smoke a joint.  I may self have not smoked one in four years.  Because I have a job I can’t afford to lose and a family to take care of.  But still four years later, I’d rather smoke a joint than drink a beer any day.

Oh I am in agreeance with it being stupid to get caught with drugs on your person and then deny that it’s yours.  Notice I used stupid and not ignorance.  There is a large difference.  Ignorant meaning you don’t know any better because you have no experience or been taught otherwise.  Much like most people who want marijuana to remain ilegal.  Now stupid is knowing better yet still doing it.  Like knowing that the load of drugs in your backpack is ilegal but you still have them.  Then act like a larger fool when caught and say “I don’t know how they got there, must have been the weed-fairy.”

It seems that your advocating an Illegal activity in a public forum. If you really want to make a difference contact your local state representative.Since you are so full of jest contact NORML and organize your own parade if you don’t mind the scrunitythat you will surely gain.

you’re absolutely right. ignorance can also be defined as having dope in your backpack, in your office and saying its not yours.

Sorry y’all but ignorance is doing dope legal or not and believing it’s ok.

“but officer, it’s not mine. i was just holding it for someone”.

I can’t believe he directed us to Reefer Madness.
LMAO.

Reefermadness, lol.
