AL Colleges To Vote on Illegal Immigrant Ban

Immigration Illegal Members of the state board of education are scheduled to vote on a policy Thursday that would keep illegal immigrants from being admitted to Alabama's two-year colleges.

PELL CITY, Ala. (AP) - Members of the state board of education
are scheduled to vote on a policy Thursday that would keep illegal
immigrants from being admitted to Alabama's two-year colleges.
The policy would require all applicants to prove their U.S.
citizenship or that they are in the country legally. If passed, it
would take effect during preregistration for the spring 2009
session.
Students who are admitted before then would not be affected.
Two-year chancellor Bradley Byrne said recommendation comes
while the system is reviewing all of its policies and he doesn't
believe enrollment of illegal immigrants is a big problem among the
colleges.
Opponents say the policy is unnecessary and board members should
discuss it more before casting their votes.

Leave them alone, you are legal so you don’t see my position on this. They need to become legalized for their sake. They don’t pay taxes, don’t have medical coverage and are always on the lam. That is no way to live. They get an education, what can they do with it, either work illegally or take the education back home where they came from. If they get sick, oh my bad the taxpayer pays we have no insurance.

To answer your question yes i do have faimly that is from Mexico but they are legal.I just think that everyone needs to leave them alone and no I dont need to talk to my parents because I’m 24 years old not a kid they feel the same way that I do

Excuse me, illegal immigrants. They have as much rights? They are illegal, if I am on the streets with no DL I am illegal and I get arrested. They don’t pay taxes, they don’t have the same rules we have. If you don’t want to be null an void keep it legal. You are per’se saying leave them alone even though they did not play by the rules. Why are there laws and legal immigration if it is okay to not go through that process. I think you are possibly a young person with little friends who are illegal and you are making excuses for them. Talk to yo momma and daddy and let me know their oppinion..

Everyone just needs to leave them alone just because the are not from the U.S doesnt mean they are not the same as us.they have just as much rights to be here as we do leave them alone and let them live there lives I vote let them stay
