to allow Sarah Palin to take daughter Piper trick-or-treating.
Rick Brewster said he parked the bus and a Secret Service
vehicle followed the Republican vice presidential candidate around
the neighborhood.
He said they were just down-to-earth people.
Brewster, a resident of Walnut Grove, has been a bus driver for
Thrasher Brothers Trailways of Birmingham since 1996 after retiring
from Goodyear.
He said the firm got the contract to handle transportation for
the McCain campaign shortly before the Republican Convention.
Brewster said he would drive McCain, Palin, or both of them.
On Tuesday, the bus was parked at the Rainbow Church of God for
a few hours. Brewster said students from Rainbow Middle School and
Westbrook School got to tour the bus.
