Angela Myrant calls it divine intervention.
As part of National Adoption Awareness Month, we introduce you to The Myrant Family.
These are The Myrants. India is eleven, Dewayne is 13, Ailiana 7, Jacob 9, Isaiah is 10, and Sherria is 6.
"We all fitted together. Everything is working out great. All love each other. We're just one big happy family", says Angela.
Everyone has chores to do. Their mom is a single full time working mother.
"We get up every morning at six o'clock and it's like soldier work. We all marching around doing what we're assigned to do and we're out the door", says Anglea.
With no intentions of adopting children, seven years ago Angela agreed to foster a child. But, the more of them she met, the more she fell in love.
Angela says,
"And you can just see the awesomeness of God when you can see children that don't know you and accept you as their mom and to say 'I'm going to love her'. She's going to be with us. She's going to be our mom".
All of the children are biological siblings. In march of this year. Angela legally became their mother adopting all six.
"She takes good care of us", says India.
Theirs is a Christian home full of love, laughter, and prayer...lots of prayer.
Angela says,
"A lot of people say the kids are so blessed to have someone like me, but I like to turn the table around because I cannot imagine my life without them. So I feel the one that's blessed because I have them".
Right now, about 630 children are in foster care in Mobile County. The Department of Human Resources says when a child becomes free for adoption, 75 to 80 percent of the children are adopted by their foster parents.
