why in the WORLD is this a news story? who was the brilliant decision maker that decided “now that’s a good story” when it came to putting this stuff up? this child killed an officer. who gives a sh*t if this kid was goin to be a singer/songwriter. that has nothing to do with the case, not a daggum thing. i want facts about how the trial is going… not an in depth look into this kids life. i was going to be a dancer but turns out now i’m at a pharamacy. anyone want to do a story on that? no. why? well because nobody cares.why in the hell is the news trying to do a “plug” for this killer. accident or not, he’s a killer. and if i’m over-reacting please tell me. i mean i cant even find anything on the meth bust that happened and stopped 4 people from distributing but i can see the cop killer sing some songs… awesome! now someone who is trying to be singer/rapper/actor may just go shoot someone so they can get a hand up too. such positive re-enforcement i tell ya.

Test-tube Christian? Probably So.
But the truth that no one can change is that he murdered an Officer Of The Law and he won’t have a chance to experience freedom at least until he reaches the age of 43. (if ever at all) so this is understandably painful for those who knows this guy because this is going to be a living death for them for the rest of their lives without the chance for closure.
He made this decision on his own and he will pay the price. And so will his family. He has ruined so many lives and he doesn’t even know it yet.

What experiences? There is no excuse for what he did. No one has a perfect life, but we have the ability to make it a better, productive one. He chose until the day of his arrest to continue drugging(weed), drinking(at 18), and acting like a wannabe. Well guess what, he’s no longer a wannabe-he is-thug scum. You think you “know” this creep-obviously, you are a poor judge of character, or deleriously blinded.

It was CALCULATED when he took a gun to an already resolved she-dog fight. It was CALCULATED when he pulled the trigger. It was CALCULATED when he fled the scene and put other people at risk when the police pursued him. It was a CALCULATED decision to not let the law handle it to begin with.

I am beginning to think that his “fear” came from the way this officer looked.Officer Sigler was obviously an authority figure, when he told them to LEAVE,and had a gun in a holster on his hip. Had he been some hood gangsta-he would have shot scum-boy first, no questions asked, when he came charging up. Officer Sigler was not in the least bit threatening. It is this punk who is a threat to society. Perhaps Officer Sigler’s death now, saved multitudes from being slain by this creep later. Officer Sigler died with honor and integrity-something this cretin will NEVER have.He is the one that chose that road to death row…

rmseek1234, how can you say it’s calculated? And I know Joey, and I know he’s not the type of person to not feel remorse for what he’s done. You can’t know what was going on in his head, and you don’t know that if you were in the same situation, and had the same experiences throughout life as he did that you wouldn’t have done the same thing.

Shealeigh, I’m not justifying what he did, but that’s not something he would plan. And I don’t think he should go unpunished, but to say that he should be fried or lethally injected is just cruel. But hey, this is America right? Everyone is just a bunch of sadists that feed off other people’s suffering. Schadenfreude.

No one should be killed, and I don’t think what he did was right, but killing the kid isn’t going to solve anything or bring peace to anyone else. My thoughts and prayers are with both families.

I have to say though, it is a shame to see talent thrown down the drain like this guy did. He maybe could had been something special in the future.
Switch- I do have to agree with you to a to a certain extent. I “TRY” my best to not judge and forgive as much as possible. cases like this makes it hard to. So much sympathy from me to BOTH families. Yes BOTH, Officer Siglers family lost a great man to a senseless act of violence; and Hollingsworths family lost him due to an act of udder stupidity.

I am in no way condoning what this guy did. He deserves to be put in a cell for a long time and think about what he done that has put him there. I am also very curious as to where his GF is standing now. Lots of questions need to be answered imo. Like did his GF call him and completely over exaggerate the situation to making him think she was in life threatening trouble? Just because it’s a chick fight doesn’t mean it’s all hair pulling. My best friend (who was 16) and her father was murdered in thier sleep by another chick with a gun. Did he just come up in their with the shoot first ask questions later mentality? I’m sure their was witnesses to what happened and what all really went on. I’m sure it will all come out eventually if Officer Sigler identified himself as a cop, or if he never even got the chance to do so.

switch…are you telling us he changed over night while in jail?  everyone changes for the better in jail..but when they get out it is the same old story.  Why does an 18 year old need a gun…well we have the answer for that.  He got that gun..not registered, and did just what he had planned when he got the gun.  Yes, we have all made mistakes I am not throwing stones.  I do believe everyone should be forgiven.  I have been forgiven many times for many things.  I do feel sorry for this guy…should he get out of jail..NO he is a cold blooded killer.  Where is the “girlfriend” in all of this?  She is going to go on about her life..just what this 18 year old idiot should have done, and not been carrying a gun like he thought he was somebody.
