Alabama Murder Mother of murder victim talks to News 5 about her loss

Fighting back tears and struggling to keep her composure, Allyn Bullard talked to us about her nightmare.

"I never in my life would have thought that he'd take her life," says Bullard. "I can't imagine it. It's so hard."

Bullard's daughter, Quintessa Pickens, was murdered inside her Foley apartment. Bullard and her husband were the ones who found Picken's body.

"We saw a body on the floor, covered up and I started crying and he said baby, don't come in here, don't come in here," says Bullard. "She was laying sideways from her bedroom to the kitchen and had the rope or something I guess where he'd strangled her with."

Quintessa Pickens' boyfriend, Jontez Holt, has been charged with murder. Police say Holt used a jump rope to strangle her.

"Why? Why take her life with her two babies and her family that loves her?"

Bullard says she'll raise her grand-children, but says she hasn't told them their mother is dead.

The family needs your help with funeral expenses. An account called the Quintessa Pickens Memorial Fund has been set up at Bryant Bank in Foley.

my heart goes out to mrs bullard. i cant imagine goin through something like this. im definitely praying for her and those beautiful children who have lost their mother.

Even as someone who has lost a close family member to murder, I can only scratch the surface of how it must feel to lose a child. My heart aches for Ms. Bullard & her family. May God bless & watch over them during this difficult time & give them the strength to face each passing day.

God bless this woman and her family. I can’t imagine the courge it took for this woman to talk about this. Those poor innocent children have been robbed of their mother, and a mother has been robbed of her daughter. You can truly feel the pain in this womans voice… Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.
