MOBILE, Alabama - What a day to take a walk with your buddy. That's exactly what hundreds of people did today, 10/10/09, in Mobile. They took a stroll around Hank Aaron Stadium as part of the annual Buddy Walk. The Down Syndrome Society of Mobile County put on the event. They're raising awareness for people with special needs. Organizers say they're also trying to raise money for their non-profit group. They say it's important to educate the public about people with special needs.“If you're in contact with someone with Down Syndrome they're delightful people to be around they usually have a wonderful outlook on life,” says Down Syndrome Society of Mobile Publicity Chairman Stephen Pryor. The walk was a one mile trek around the stadium. After the main event kids were treated to live music and games.
