It was a hot day to take in some art. Hundreds of people stopped in Foley to do just that. Sunday, May 10th, 2009 was the last day for the 37th annual "Art in the Park" event. Organizers say the festival benefited from mother's day crowds looking for something fun to do with mom. They say they want more people to check out regional artists.“We will never have more than 120 artists we think that's just the right amount for folks to walk through and really get to look at the art and just not be overwhelmed by it,” says Performing Arts Association President Mell Davis. The annual festival started almost 40 years ago as a way to showcase local talent. Organizers say it just kept getting bigger from there.
