Alabama Mississippi BREAKING NEWS The Mobile County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in the 1980 murder of a South Alabama student.

5:35 p.m.
- Police say the murder suspect, Jamie Letson, was also a student at South Alabama.
- "There is no closure for a family just because the person who did harm to your family is charged." said Attorney General Troy King. "They still don't have a daughter. This Thanksgiving there will be an empty chair at their table again This Christmas there will be empty seats again."

3:49 p.m.
The Mobile County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in the 1980 murder of a South Alabama student.

Katherine Foster was found dead February 21st, 1980 in a wooded area on campus. She had been shot in the back of the head.

Deputies arrested a woman, Jamie Letson, in Jackson, Mississippi for the murder.

Wasn’t the Foster girl from Pascagoula? I graduated HS in 1980 and remember the case being in the news alot back then.

I think I moved to Mobile in ‘83 and I remember people still talking about this case even then. Wonder what went down? Someone must have talked. Was it a jealous rage sort of thing?
