Update 7:30 p.m.- Fire completely out
- Started as a controlled burn by homeowner
- 250 acres was burned
6:38 p.m.
- Fire extinguished around 6:00 p.m.
- Rain aided firefighters.
- Firefighters are still working to put out hotspots.
5:47 p.m.
- Alabama Forestry Service says the wildfire is no longer threatening the Exxon-Mobil refinery.
5:30 p.m.
- ALDOT warning drivers to use caution along Hwy 188. Smoke crossing the highway is making it difficult to see.
5:16 p.m.
- Fire came really close to DCP Midstream Natural Gas Plant.
- Firefighters are digging trenches along the fence line.
- Fire jumped on both sides of Highway 188
4:36 p.m.
Firefighters are battling a 200-plus acre wildfire in Alabama Port, off Highway 188, that is moving toward the Exxon-Mobil Refinery.
