Last Friday, Mobile Police say a 15-year old shoved a gun in the face of a couple walking to their car. Since December, there have been four reported carjackings in the same lot.
Mobile Police Corporal Charles Bagsby says if you are shopping at night... take a buddy, park near the lights and keep an eye on your surroundings. "The main thing is to be conscious of your surroundings because a lot of these crimes are committed by surprise when you're not paying attention."
The 15-year old in the case was arrested after a short car chase and taken to Strickland Youth Center. He's charged with robbery.
In the past year, Mobile Police have responded to 463 various calls from the Walmart on the Beltline. In comparison, 341 calls were made for police assistance last year at the Walmart on Schillinger Road.
